Understanding FDIC Insurance Information

At SCBT, we believe in our customers.  Therefore, we want to provide you with the most up to date information available regarding the safety of your money.

SCBT is a member of the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).  FDIC insurance covers funds in deposit accounts, including checking and savings accounts, money market deposit accounts and certificates of deposit (CDs).

The protection on these accounts has temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor.

SCBT is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.

Under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program, through December 31, 2010, all non-interest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under this program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
